MIBA Industrial Bearings U.S. is a global leader in the design and manufacture of hydro-dynamic bearings. Working for MIBA, the candidate will be responsible to support the strategic growth of the hydrodynamic bearings’ product line at the Columbus NE site.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and facilitating daily manufacturing activities, ensuring the safe and efficient production of components and/or finished products. They provide leadership and motivation to technical and hourly associates, focusing on achieving quality, quantity, service, cost, and safety goals
The Manufacturing Supervisor is expected to behave ethically, work safely and as a team, and focus on our customer satisfaction.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Lead, motivate and energize associates to achieve departmental goals, providing training and support as needed. Ensure a team problem solving mindset.
- Manage personnel activities in accordance with company policies and core values.
- Recommend and implement improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and resource utilization.
- Coordinate and execute production plans, monitoring progress and reporting shift results.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for daily production and other necessary records.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers & other departments to improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and address repetitive issues.
- Ensure adherence to standard work and set up procedures by all operations associates.
- Maintain and improve company standards for Safety, 5S, TMS, People (training), and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
- Participate in Lean Kaizen events to continuously improve business performance.
- Foster a trusting and respectful work environment, encouraging open communication and collaboration between teams
- Manage employee time off and the impact it may have on the daily, weekly, and monthly schedule. Lead team meetings with production associates, maintenance technicians, quality technicians, and material handlers for the resolution of problems at the production floor level to improve about Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics.
- Coaches’ poor performance in a timely manner
- Leads by example and adamantly supports the goals and strategies of plant leadership with all plant personnel.
- Responsible for actively partnering and building teamwork between Columbus team and Grafton Team to leverage best practices
- Ability to work on flexible schedule and cover 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and (weekend) shifts as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
- Minimum 4-year degree or 2-year degree with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing supervisor or manager role
- Experience in planning and supply chain processes
- Demonstrated experience with cost reduction, quality improvement and throughput improvement projects.
- SAP experience preferred
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methods with hands on experience.
- Strong knowledge of machining, specifically milling and turning preferred.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
- Knowledge and capability to analyze data
- Must be a self-starter, lead and be able to work in a team environment, and perform a variety of duties without loss of efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums.
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Knowledge with Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Health & Safety (ISO 45001) business management systems.
- Knowledge and experiences of Operational systems and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of MS Office product and computer proficiency
- Limited travel required: up to 10%.
- Express a positive attitude, problem solver and strong team collaboration.
- US Citizenship or lawful permanent resident of the US is required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment is typically considered within a MIBA AG location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities. Work environment may also include customer sites and meeting venues.EEO
