Job Title: Learning and Development Program Lead

The Learning and Development Program Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs within our organization, ensuring our employees receive the necessary training to perform their roles effectively while ensuring our training initiatives align with company goals. Within the HC team, this position will bridge the gap between strategic objectives and employee competencies by creating continuous learning and development opportunities for our employees through tailored learning solutions.

This role involves assessing training needs, designing curriculum, writing job instructions and delivering or organizing training sessions through various methods such as workshops, seminars, e-learning, and on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify the training and development needs of the company through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultation with managers.
  • Assess and identify fundamental behaviors and skills need for identified positions/roles.
  • Design and develop training programs, development plans, and materials, including manuals, guides, and e-learning content.
  • Develop a train-the-trainer program and identify internal candidates for this program within each department.
  • Create development paths for identified positions/roles.
  • Update training programs to ensure they are current and relevant.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Analyze training outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Report on training activities and outcomes to management.
  • Work closely with department heads and managers to identify training needs and align training programs with business goals. Assist in creating and maintaining skills matrices for all departments.
  • Support the onboarding process by providing training to new hires.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Plan and implement activities that connect the company with local educational institutions (high schools, technical schools, alternative education programs, etc.) to promote skilled trades career opportunities, and to build a pipeline of potential employment candidates.
  • Support HC activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in training and development, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a corporate training role with specific experience in adult learning
  • Must have familiarity with machining/technical aspects of machining.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in e-learning platforms and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • US Citizenship required.
